DaTapat
The man standing behind the year-old project DaTapat has been in the scene for about 20 years already – known as DJ Piparkuuku viirs he has performed in numerous underground venues around Latvia.
In the recent years DaTapat has focused on music production using modular synthesiser, sampler and a drummachine. As the musician himself explains - creation process is directly influenced from the emotions of the particular moment, relentless rhytms of the urban everyday as well as symbiosis between people and environment. His recordings contain spontaneously made loops and usually are recorded live for the one-time only experience. As his sound drifts between genres, the sonic journey is never prospective nor alike, it is fluid and moves from raw bangs to melodic tunes.
