Jachin Edward Pousson, born 1983 USA, lived in Singapore and Copenhagen before settling permanently in Riga in 2012 as a composer, performer and researcher specialising in Brain-Computer Music Interfacing (BCMI) design. Over the past 5 years he has conducted research using the electroencephalography (EEG) method to investigate brain dynamics during music interaction, applying outcomes to design tools for harnessing the brain signal in live performance. Jachin holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in composition, and a PhD in systematic musicology. His artistic outputs are diverse - other than academic composition and research work he currently performs, produces and publishes free improvisation, electronic, and experimental folklore music in different ensembles.
